About Brian Robinson
Professional History
Brian Robinson has been practicing geology since 1969 and was involved with the original development of Diamond Bar, Benedict Canyon, Bell Canyon, and Morrison Ranch. He mapped the geology of Dune Canyon Road, San Francisquito Canyon Road, and Palos Verdes Drive South. He was involved with the County of Los Angeles Seismic Commission and wrote Seismic Safety elements for the County of Los Angeles and numerous cities in Los Angeles County. Brian Robinson investigated several large and small landslides including Portuguese Bend, Abalone Cove, and the 25th Street landslide in Palos Verdes. He also investigated the Big Rock Mesa, Castellammare, Los Flores, Rambla Pacifico, Latigo Shores, and Malibu Road landslides. In 1983, he was involved with landslide evaluations in San Jose, California and, in 1992, he was involved with landslide evaluations in Anaheim Hills, Laguna Hills, San Clemente, and Malibu. Mr. Robinson has evaluated damage resulting from the 1971 San Fernando earthquake through to the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Brian Robinson worked with the Army Corp of Engineers evaluating the coastal erosion potential of San Diego County. In addition to his voluminous work in California, he mapped the geology of portions of Canada, South America, Madagascar, Colorado, North and South Dakota, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon.
